OGraf Studio 0.10

OGraf Studio 0.10 adds self-contained Windows, macOS, and Linux distributions while preserving the existing source development and independent MCP workflows. One executable per operating system and architecture serves the complete browser editor, MCP endpoint, editor bridge, health/capture routes, fonts, icons, schemas, and runtime dependencies.

Standalone server distribution

  • Added npm run server:package, which creates release/OGrafStudioServer.exe with the production Vite editor and all server dependencies embedded. Bun is required only on the build machine; the destination requires no Bun, Node.js, npm, installer, or source checkout.
  • Added npm run server:package:all for Windows x64, macOS Intel/Apple Silicon, and Linux x64/ARM64, plus deterministic PE/Mach-O/ELF format, architecture, embedded-content, size, and SHA-256 checks.
  • Added npm run server:start for source-level testing of the combined host.
  • Added --port, --workspace, --open, --no-open, and --help command-line options while retaining OGRAF_MCP_PORT and OGRAF_WORKSPACE_ROOT environment overrides.
  • Standalone storage defaults to Documents/OGraf Studio/Projects, rather than the read-only executable or source tree.
  • The packaged editor alone derives its /editor WebSocket from the page origin. Normal Vite development retains ws://127.0.0.1:4318/editor and normal npm run mcp:start retains the repository workspace default.
  • The first standalone release deliberately binds only to 127.0.0.1 and retains the MCP SDK's localhost host validation. Authenticated non-loopback hosting remains future work.
  • Packaging now stages and replaces the executable atomically so a failed build preserves the last successful artifact.

Console and Windows branding

  • Startup identifies OGraf Studio 0.10 and prints the public https://github.com/zerodensity/ograf-studio source URL.
  • Added a compact ASCII banner containing the Zero Density mark and a separately centered OGS broadcast-arc/letter/peak icon. Every OGS row shares one centerline and the complete banner fits an ordinary 80-column terminal.
  • Replaced Bun's default executable icon with a Windows icon derived from the existing OGraf Studio project artwork. The packaged PE exposes the branded icon from 16 through 256 pixels.
  • Added Zero Density publisher, product, description, copyright, and 0.10.0.0 Windows metadata.

Development workflow and defaults

  • Added npm run start:all, a Windows helper that launches the normal Vite editor and MCP server as hidden background processes, skips already healthy services, waits for readiness, and writes separate logs under .logs.
  • Locked the editor New path to the composition factory defaults: opaque black output with Outside canvas · 20% gray enabled. Existing, imported, and autosaved projects retain their authored background and layout settings.

Validation

  • npm run verify passes generated MCP-contract and in-app-prompt drift checks, formatting, lint, every workspace typecheck, 423 tests across 87 files, the runtime bundle, and the production editor build.

  • The standalone executable returned HTTP 200 for embedded editor HTML and its application bundle, advertised all 26 MCP tools, rendered Timeline and Properties in a real browser without console errors, and reported the same-origin editor bridge connected through /health.

  • The independent npm run mcp:start path was also launched on a separate port and retained its original workspace and endpoint behavior.

  • The Linux x64 executable was also run under Ubuntu 22.04 on WSL: it served editor HTML and healthy workspace JSON before shutting down cleanly. macOS and ARM64 binaries are cross-compiled and structurally verified but still require native runner validation.

  • The production editor continues to emit the documented large-chunk advisory. The Windows binary is currently unsigned, and the macOS binaries are neither signed nor notarized. Facilities should apply the appropriate platform signing process before broad external distribution.
